Bible verses about hope in hard times
"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin." (Hebrews 4:15)
Jesus is our high priest. He understands what it's like to be human and therefore he can sympathize with us when we're going through hard times. As a result of this empathy, Jesus never sins; even though he was tempted in every way that we are, he never fell into temptation.
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us." (Psalms 62:8)
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling pride. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her gates; she shall not be overthrown!
"Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6)
This verse is a good reminder that when you're going through a hard time, it's important to pray about the situation and seek God's guidance. He can give you hope if you ask him for it--but if you don't ask him, then he may not intervene on your behalf. Also remember that when we have faith in Christ and his promises, there will always be hope because he has conquered sin once and for all!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
When you are facing a battle, remember God knows exactly where you are. He has providing a plan for your life through Jesus and will bring his plans to prosper into fruition. All you have to do is continue in faith and believe that God is faithful to His Word.
